IF-220257 - Oil & Gas - Midstream Industry Forum

Polling / Live Q&A

Digital Transformation in Practice

Driven by the falling cost of digital technologies and the expanding options for reliable communications, digitization has provided many companies with a new opportunity for gaining a competitive edge. However, many midstream operators still struggle with the cost of investments and transforming their operational culture to ensure the sustainable return far into the future.

Aligning with the theme of Emerson’s 2018 User Exchange, “Spurring Innovation”, the O&G Midstream Form will focus on “Digital Transformation in Practice” where panelists from midstream operating companies provide a short synopsis of how digital transformation at their respective companies have created a unique opportunity to solve a challenge or create a competitive edge.  The presentations will be followed by panel discussion and audience questions.

The Midstream Forum will be focused on terminals, pipelines and gas plant operators (LNG not part of the discussion although the topic may be broad enough where it does not matter) and topics for discussion may include:

4-161522 - Over Pressure Protection Systems Reduces Risk for Midstream O&G Operations

Polling / Live Q&A

In the process industries, the ever-increasing flow rates in combination with the environmental constraints have introduced the widespread and rapid acceptance of OPPS as the ultimate overpressure protection system. Directly replacing pressure relief devices, these automated solutions are designed to reduce the probability for loss of containment which often result in economic impact; environmental damage and the potential to effect human life. This session will detail the CapEx/OpEx cost reduction, system types, design implications, industry standards, as well as testing and compliance challenges.

45 minutes Workshop Bryce Elliott - DCS Team Lead, Barry D. Payne & Associates, Inc.
Chuck Miller - Director - Global Midstream Programs, Emerson
Matthew Quintana - Account Manager, Puffer-Sweiven LP
