Blake Wickland

Technical Services Manager, Tarpon Energy Services

Speaker Bio

My career began at the age of 13 doing Instrumentation work as a Shop Hand at Syntech where i apprenticed and eventually received my Red Seal Instrumentation Technician Journeyman Certificate. In 2003 myself and about 30 others started Tarpon Energy Services where i am still to this date. My experience ranges from field preventative maintenance and construction to office based design, specification, estimation, quality control and project management. I currently serve as Technical Services Manager and include a specialty in the management of methane reduction programs.

4-161722 - Reduced Instrument Vent Rates Achieve Methane Compliance with ROI Upstream oil and gas producers have found it difficult to meet vented methane reduction targets at upstream oil and gas production assets. Tarpon Energy Services worked closely with the local LBP, Spartan Controls, to help a Canadian producer reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission impacts from pneumatic instruments without compromising performance and reliability. A streamlined project development and management tool made reporting to the government easier and carbon offsets cost effective. $1.8M CDN/yr. in fuel gas savings and carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) credits were realized through retrofit of transducers and pressure controllers. 45 minutes Workshop Blake Wickland - Technical Services Manager, Tarpon Energy Services
Brian Van Vliet - Environmental Solutions Leader, Spartan Controls
