Session Description

Originally invented for the mining industry, wedge meters have been used for over 50 years. Since then, other industries have successfully adopted this technology for challenging applications where traditional flow solutions have failed. Functionally, the wedge meter is based on the theory of Differential Pressure (DP) flow, comparable to the Rosemount Conditioning Orifice Plate and the Rosemount Annubar Averaging Pitot tube. Constriction geometry is the key difference between the aforementioned DP flowmeters. The robust design and shape of the wedge element contribute to its superior performance in tough processes. This workshop will provide a spotlight on DP technology, the advantages of the wedge meter, and detailed applications with recent successes.
