Session Description

Corrosion management plays a key role in safer refinery operations and increased uptime and production. Yet, while monitoring technologies have seen improvements, the focus still remains just on the measurement data – whether it be from intrusive probes and coupons, non-intrusive electric field signature monitoring or ultrasonic sensors – rather than how it can be actioned upon. This leaves a lot of the potential value in corrosion management out of reach and undermines confidence in both emerging and existing technologies. This paper will examine how operators can achieve top quartile performance through an integrated monitoring solution based on five key design pillars – measurement, connectivity, visualization, quality and scalability. Real-life applications will be cited throughout.
