4-161722 - Reduced Instrument Vent Rates Achieve Methane Compliance with ROI

Session Speakers
Session Description

Upstream oil and gas producers have found it difficult to meet vented methane reduction targets at upstream oil and gas production assets. Tarpon Energy Services worked closely with the local LBP, Spartan Controls, to help a Canadian producer reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission impacts from pneumatic instruments without compromising performance and reliability. A streamlined project development and management tool made reporting to the government easier and carbon offsets cost effective. $1.8M CDN/yr. in fuel gas savings and carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) credits were realized through retrofit of transducers and pressure controllers.
