7-160784 - Deep dive into Smart Commissioning

Session Speakers
Session Description

Both field devices and control systems have become smarter, however commissioning practices have remained practically the same as with analog instrumentation. The HART protocol has been underutilized and commissioning practices follow old practices. A new commissioning approach is required to take advantage of new technology. Smart Commissioning is a technology-enabled approach for streamlining the commissioning of field instrumentation. It reduces effort and time for commissioning HART devices by automating most of the associated tasks. Smart Commissioning became available with DeltaV/AMS v13 and it will be greatly improved in v14. This session describes in detail the features introduced in DeltaV v14 to simplify even further the commissioning of HART field devices.
